My name is Ben Engbers, I was born in 1954 and studied biology
at Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
I work for the Dutch department of Economic Affairs in the
field of Business Applications.
My hobby's are music, reading (fantasy and philosophy) and
computing.
Biologists have a reputation that they are often creative in
finding solutions. I have often seen that they their knowledge in one
field helps them to find a solution for a problem in another totally
different field.
Certainly when tackling a new computing-problem, one also
often has to be creative. Sometimes you need to develop a new
algorithm, you have to search for appropriate tools. To be brief, you
have to puzzle a lot. And since I like to puzzle...
